We welcome you and your family to Whitewood Resort. Our main interest is the comfort and happiness of our guests. We are located 120 miles north of the Twin Cities on highway 169 to Aitkin County Road 28, 2 miles east. The trip to Whitewood includes 20 miles of scenic highway along Mille Lacs Lake.

A view from the lake. Spirit Lake is crystal clean and spring fed. Excellent marked swimming beach. Dock space for each cabin for one boat. Lake front fully modern cabins include: baths with showers,bedding, fully equiped kitchens including microwave ovens, coffee pots, dishes, pots and pans. Please bring your own bath and dish towels. WE DO NOT ALLOW PETS.

Great Fishing! Spirit Lake is part of the Ripple River Chain, with abundant protection from high winds and rough water. Large mouth bass fishing is at it's best in June, but continues into late August. Spirit Lake is a top fishing lake for all varieties of pan and game fish including northern pike and walleyes. Whitewood Resort opens for the fishing opener and closes September 30. We have boats and motors, including a pontoon, for rental. Our guests have use of swimming beach, horseshoe court, volleyball court, Hydro-Bikes, kayaks and swingsets all at no additional cost.

There are many lakes in our area for those who like to explore other waters. Most lakes have a public access so you can launch your boat. We are located on The Ripple River Chain of lakes so if you care to take a canoe trip to other lakes, you can use Whitewood Resort as a starting base. The lake is now frozen and folks are getting anxious to get their fish houses out on the lake. With the strong north winds and warm temps this fall, it's been a long freeze. So far it looks like winter fishing is going to be great!
